About Skarlatti

Art is a window to the sacred realm, where inspiration is born.  Any artist knows this, for it’s an everyday thing:  You visit the sweet land of inspiration; then –with saw and hammer and fire, and a bunch of very blunt and mundane objects– you forge a perceptible piece of that inspiration:  art.

What makes jewelry so exciting is that it’s not only wearable, changable, portable art, but it’s invariably personal, too.  There’s no better compliment than to know that someone loves one of my pieces, and that they have invested it with meaning.  It’s a thrill and an honor to be a part of this whole process.

After a sincere dedication to world travel, I finally came to settle on the island of Maui, where I studied jewelry-making from master jeweler, JB Rea.   I’d like to think somehow my jewelry echoes what I have experienced of this tough, lively, and enchanted world, the lovely island where I now live, and the sacred realm which continually inspires.
